Hey you, Congratulations!!! We've missed you here - thought we'd done something to offend you.

First few days are always the worst - new people to meet and so much time worrying about doing something wrong. Sorry, that sounds negative. It wasn't supposed to. Hope it goes well. Let us know...

Hi all, thanks for well wishes!!! Yes, I was really nervous but the girl I worked with on Sunday was great, she really put me at ease. The salon had currently only been cutting clients hair , but they bought in the Wella range of colours the day before I started, and luckily I have experience of this range so they are all looking to me to teach them how to use it!!! No pressure then!!!!

The snow was quite bad here but luckily I drive a Mitsubishi Pajero and I stuck to the main roads which were well gritted!

All the staff are quite young and I believe I am the mummy as they are all younger than me!!! The manager is so nice, I knew her previously as I had been helping a mate out in a salon in the same shopping centre and she used to pop to say hi now and then.

Its so nice to be in a salon, no more rinsing peoples colours out in their homes over their baths with a jug ha ha ha. I am still doing mobile but not as much.

I've worked my first three days and I am still excited about going bcak, so that must be a good thing lol.

Why, oh why is it, just when you think things are going good it all turns to s**t!!!!

I went quite far afield to a mobile clients house last Saturday, did a lovely half head of highlights and a beautiful blow, and got lost on the way home in the cold at 9 o'clock at night. (strike 1).

Once I had (finally) pulled up out side my house,I noticed my temperature gauge on my car was on the red, I had over heated and blown up my water pump!! (strike 2)

I went into work on Sunday full of the joys then realised I had forgotten my scissors ( but my boss was pleased the salon was sparkling clean!!) (strike 3)

( I though you were out after 3 strikes but kharma is dealing me a VERY bad hand :S)

I though, things can only get better, went into work Tuesday (with scissors!!), was having an excellant day, lovely clients and doing well for tips, when suddenly the fire alarms went off in the shopping centre opening the massive windows in the roof of the shopping centre, drenching the place. 5 seconds later, we had a power cut, we were plunged into darkness and cold with the shopping centre slowly filling with large puddles(strike 4)

I had ordered a new water pump for my car which came today...yes, you guessed it, it was the wrong one (strike 5)

Hubby has just come home with the correct part and is fitting it now...fingers crossed....

And just to top things off..my youngest daughter has been diagnosed this morning with chicken pox.....can someone please tell me all this is a dream and I will wake up soon????????

PLEAAAAAAASSSSEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! I hope things sort themselves out in the next few days, you're just being tested! In the words of  Yazz - The only way is up!

I'm quite confused about the windows in the roof opening at the shopping centre. Surely, if there was a fire, that would make it worse?

It really will get better, at least your manager sounds understanding. Good luck x
