Hi all,

I am looking for salon owners who have had a similar problem with a company called Lifestyle TV.

I had Lifestyle TV installed in the salon Last May 08 and they promised to pay off my old contract with my previous TV company. They didn't do this and I have ended up having to pay for 2 systems.

They have theTV's inside the mirrors and they look good but I have never received the service that they promised and now have decided to wash my hands of the company. I am seeking legal advice and I know there are salons out there having similar problems so I would love to know if anyone else is or if anyone knows of any salons with the system in.

I would really appreciate it.

Hi Beverley,

Yes I have been having serious problems with Lifestyle TV. I signed a contract with them back in March 08 and had the system installed in my salon in Epsom. They agreed to pay off my previous contract with Simply Digital Networks as I already had a tv system in my salon which they were replacing. This never happened and I ended up paying for 2 systems. They also promised me advertising revenue which I didn't see a penny of and the system didn't work properly since the day it was installed. I felt that I was totally missold a product.

As a result of this I seeked the advice of a solicitor and he has been dealing with the case. He advised me to remove the system from the salon and stop paying for it as the contract was void as they had misinformed me of their services. I currently have the mirrors and tv in storage and have asked them to come and collect them. I have not heard anything from Lifestyle TV since I threatened them with my solicitor.

I am now aware of quite a few salons experiencing similar problems with the company. Have you heard from these salons? I would be interested in what kind of difficulties they are experiencing from this company. It seems to be a complete con to me.

Thanks for getting in touch, if I can help any more let me know.

 Kind regards,

Sam Ross

i to am having serious problems with lifestyle tv, thay came to me with an excellent idea and nothing but stress.

i to was sold the product with promises of revenue of local advertising, along side being able to advertise my salon also we are no longer getting any link from the inernet and our running on a two clip piece being played back to back so the screens are currently off.

i have tried calling over five different numbers all with no joy the address given they no longer reside at and no forwarding address is avalible.

shire leasing are arguing they no nothing which i can not believe, i am now stuck with screens that are useless, a three year expensive contract and damages made to the salon due to the lack of skill from the installation team.

my salon has only been open for 10 months and i am starting to think i was hen picked as i didnt have alot of experience in the business side of the salon, and i am a sole trader as none of the local bigger named salon were not contacted although we were told we were picked by repretation all very convenient.

have spoke to trading standards but they cannot get involved as this is a business to business problem, so therefore i have to pay out for legal support.

any body have any further help i could use anything

Hi All

I have been in contact with Lifestyle since last October on a daily basis (sometimes 6 times a day) I have kept a diary on this as I believe the whole thing is a scam.

I believe that Lifestyle recruited heavily at salon and were waiting to take as much money as possible before dissapearing.

one of the  Directors were linked with Vision TV that went into administration 18 months ago and the other was a director on a leasing company.

Shire Leasing and Henry Howard seem to be the main companies that are financing the equipment and I know that many of the salons are with these companies. Try and give them a call and complain about the product and you will discover that they will tell you that you waivered your rights by signing a document.  Ask them to send this to you and you will discover that you did not sign it.  Interesting?

Shire Leasing certainly know what is going on and so do Howard Henry but I think they will try and cover up.

I know an ex employee who did not agree with the way were conning people therefore left and provided me with info that they would not.  On checking the info I found that he was right.

I think its time for action.

I am having the exact same problem as everyone else has with Lifestyle tv!

I cannot contact either lifestyle or the financing company as the contact phone-numbers and addresses all appear non-existant.

I would be interested to know if any other salons are having problems with the financing company Cheshire who lifestyle approached on my behalf for finance.

I was promised at the time that I would recieve profit for local companies advertising on my screens, I have not seen a penny from this or a local advertisement! The only advertisement on our screens is for a bar in Kent even though the salon is in Glasgow.

I am considering approaching watchdog to find out their opinion on this matter.

If anyone has had any problems with this or also wishes to contact watchdog i would appreciate it if you could contact me on 0141-847-0101 or togneri@hotmail.co.uk

I was sold Lifestyle TV by John Swales. He told me that the money I would receive from the advertising revenue I could use to pay for the system and eventually it would be paying for itself. He also gave me the number of a salon owner who I spoke to as recommendation of the tv system. He said that he had 9 screens in his salon and they were fitted 3 months before and he was actually earning money from the system. This was obviously a set up as I have not been able to get hold of this salon owner since. They finance company that Lifestyle TV used with me was Lombard. I did sign a document on the day John Swales visited me, but do not have a copy of this. Other contact names I was given for Lifestyle TV was Chris McGuinness, who was apparently finance manager, but I was told he left and had to deal with Chris Myers, who I was told was MD of the company.

Hi Guys

We are also having issues with our Lifestyle T.V. We have now been attempting to update the clips we have on the screen's for the previous week, on attempting to contact the company to air my issues we got the Reception of the business unit that LifeStyle T.V. had been operating from. The nice lady stated that the company had moved from these premises. On hearing this i assumed that the company had gone bankrupt so I serched the name in google and found this form.

The system was sold to us by a Natalie Evans whom we are not able to now contact through the numbers we where given. The lease company "Shire Leasing" have claimed that they only lease the hardwear and have no contact with LifeStyle however as is suggested on this form i belive they know more than they are letting on.

I will also let watchdog know about my situation.

Lets together get this sorted.

 Hi Guys

We too have had major problems with Lifestyle TV and Shire Leasing, we have been very fortunate in having an excellent solictor who has already had dealings with Shire Leasing in the past and is in the process of helping us with our claim!

We are a salon based in the West Midlands and we would like to recommend that you all email Watchdog to highlight this major scam as we and several others have already done!!

We also really feel it would help us all if we could put our heads together so that we can be of mutual help to each other. Obviously the more we stand together hopefully the better the outcome ....so if anyone would like some assisstance with their claim then please either email me direct or call me on my mobile, if not just to exchange stories we also are more than happy to pass on your details to our solictor who will be more than happy to work on your behalf
