What do you guys think? There is an interesting article and posts after the article. We should all get involved with some feedback for the elle author fom the professional community, as no-one has just yet, it is just non-stylists ! Personally, I have had clients say they are getting it cut but knowing their man will hate it / on the other hand I have had clients being marched in by their fellas for a radical style change! even had some guys watching a bit too avidly!
Hi SassoonGod,
We had a conversation about something similar on the forum about a year back:
http://www.hji.co.uk/community/forums/long-hair-why-why-why-1900.aspx#2741
There is something interesting about men's opinions of short hair - personally, my style icons from a hair point of view are Posh (the reinvention thing) and Sarah Harding (just because she looks fab) and yet whenever I talk about getting my hair chopped off I get a hard time from him indoors.
Have had a couple of hairdressers tell they'd be happy to chop it all off recently though...
What do you think it will take for girls to realise how good they COULD look if they actually chilled out and took away all of the male pressure and said 'Ok, you're the professional, i want to try something new - and you can cut as much as you want...'
Do you think better 'virtual makeover' software / web sites would help - lets be honest the current ones make you look like you have a chinchilla on your head if you try a look shorter than a bob!!
What's your favourite story regarding a client deciding to go for it, take the leap of faith and go from short to long?
