Megan Zarrabi 2009sm.jpgSenior stylist Megan Zarrabi, hob salons Northwood, was ecstatic when she won Clothes Show Young Hairdresser of the Year.

"I was absolutely gobsmacked when my name was called out, the standard was so high and I'd prepared myself for the worst," she says.

As part of the prize Megan won a shoot for the front cover of HJ, which was shot by leading photographer John Rawson. On the day of the shoot session stylist Desmond Murray was also on hand as a mentor for megan.

"It was so exciting to work on a front cover shoot as I'd never done anything like it before," she adds.

"It was great to work with Desmond Murray, he kept everyone smiling even though we all worked hard. It was also fantastic to work with the photographer John Rawson, he made the images come to life."

Megan's life had chandef dramatically since winning the Clothes Show Young Hairdresser of the Year Competition

"I've been so booked up at the salon and I've entered more competitions,  I've also been working with the Fellowship for British Hairdressing for their shows," she says.

When it comes to success, Megan has some tips. "Enter competitions from a young age so that goals can be achieved quicker and you can aim even higher, but if you don't success at first, try harder next time. Each competition will make you a better stylist," she concludes.
