Rita wowed the masses in the 1940's with her sensational screen presence and must-have mane.

When Hayworth went from boring brunette to ravishing redhead, she became an overnight sensation in the movie 'The Strawberry Blonde,' creating a craze for copycat styles and cementing her place in hair history.

The latest imitators include Tinseltown temptress Scarlett Johansson, who has ditched her blonde bombshell image in the past few weeks for the smouldering Rita 'do.

With autumnal tones and a soft, far- reaching side- weep, Scarlett pulls off the look with little effort.

Up-and-coming actress Evan Rachel Wood has dropped her dark Dita Von Teese act for warm red, cascading waves, giving her an ethereal charm. 

Pictured at the 'Wrestler' premiere, the lighter shade and softer style suits her youthful complexion and it's a perfect, pretty look for the winter months.

It's good to see these hot young things giving Rita's old style glamour a modern day twist and a welcome revival.

Trust the Brits to come up with the crappiest things ever. There's not a single hairstyle that makes sense. It's all crap.
