What is your biggest achievement?
Having a very busy education calendar and being able to take my Artistic team on International trips with me.

If you weren't a hairdresser what would you be?
I always wanted to be a journalist or a TV presenter

How would your clients describe you?
Honest with what I can achieve on their hair and fun to be with.

Which one style do you wish you had created?
I wish I had created permanent hair colour as I really love the science part of developing something new, and working with technology.

Who is your style icon?
Madonna - I have grown up with her and always loved her looks

Who is your hairdressing idol?
Charles Worthington - he always has brilliant ideas

Which hairdresser would you most like to work with (past or present)?
I am lucky to work with him - Charles Worthington

Who cuts your hair?
Andrew John cuts & colours my hair, he is our Artistic Development manager

Favourite part of the job?
Working with my team, both in the office and in our salons

Who is your most famous client past or present?
Paloma Picasso and Jamie Oliver

Last time you were lost for words?
When I got home from a 12 flight from Korea, it was 2 degrees and I was told our boiler had broken and would take ages to fix and replace. I couldn't say anything, as I was cold and tired, so went straight to bed!

Which one product couldn't you live without?
L'Oreal Professional Majimeche - quick to achieve from natural sun kissed lights to dramatic light pieces without ammonia, and it really respects the hair.

Is there anything about the industry that makes you mad?
When we are portrayed badly in print and on screen and hairdressing is seen just as a job. I have worked in the industry for 27 years, I have an amazing career which I love and are passionate about and this has taken me all over the world and I have met so many incredible people.

What's the biggest gaffe you've made in your career?
It was on my hair, I thought I could very quickly (between clients) go from red to blonde, and the end result was that my hair looked like a flame, red roots, orange mid-lengths and white tips!! Not a look I would recommend.

What's the best career advice you've ever been given?
There is no such thing as a boring client, but there can be a boring hairdresser.

Last time you were star-struck?
The only time I have ever been star-struck was when I met George Michael backstage at a charity fashion show. He was my idol in Wham and I thought I would never meet him ever in real life and chat to him for 15 minutes!!

Time you were most proud to be in hairdressing?
I am always proud when I see one of our young hairdressers graduate onto the floor as a stylist, it is so fulfilling to see them working alongside you after all the hard work they have done to get there.

What celebrity haircut do you wish had never caught on?
The dark block colour underneath and the very blonde block colour on top, it seems so 80's now.

What haircut would you love to make a come-back and how would you re-invent it for the noughties?
I would like to see more different colours in hair, from black, red and gold all on the one head, but much more softer and blended together, that it was before.

Sleek and shiny or messy bed hair?
Always sleek and shiny
