ghd Launch Pure and Dark at their Expert Awards

I had a great time at ghd’s launch of its new dark and pure iv styler .
After a busy day in the office I headed to the fabulous Café Royal in London’s Regent Street, where ghd had held its Expert Awards during the day, then launched its new styler in the evening with a vibrant, McQueen-style hair show.
There are two new stylers, one is called pure and is glossy white, and the other is called dark and, yes you’ve guessed it, is glossy black.
It was great to see so many happy faces there.
The Awards
The ghd Expert Awards – now in their second year – reward stylists who really excel, pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in all areas of hairdressing.
In order to enter one of the seven categories, stylists were asked to be ‘daring, different and let your personality shine through’.
Here are the lucky winners:
- The ghd Directive New Talent Award - a year in the life of the directive Peter Gibb, The Hair Advice Centre, Hayling Island, Hampshire
- The Promotion Award - a VIP night out for the whole salon
Harrington Robertson, Shilton Leicestershire - The Classic Styling Award - a photo-shoot for the salon
Hayley Welling, Ciente, Berkhampstead - The Retail Award - a weekend of pampering at a luxury spa
Creations, West Sussex - The Expert of the Year Award (sponsored by Hairdressers Journal) - exclusive tickets for the salon.
Emma Simmons, Salon 54, Thirsk - The Catwalk Styling Award - a VIP Trip for two to New York
Lorna Urand from Hair Oasis, Basildon, Essex - The Innovation Award - A brand new Nissan Micra
Kai Wan, P.Kai Hair, Peterborough

Saw these new white and black stylers at the GHD Expert Awards the other night and they look absolutely fantastic. The finish on them gives the stylers a shiney look. While the all white or all black look gives them that extra bit of style - kind of the straighteners version of the iPod.
