Children's salons - a growing business

james.jpgHere is my little man, James, having his first ever hair cut at the fantastic new Bigoodi children's salon on New King's Road.

I was a little nervous about the whole thing - his Daddy thought he might hit the hairdresser if they came near him with some scissors! - but I needn't have worried.

The whole experience was, without question, one of the highlight's of the little man's life so far and according to the salon manager, he wasn't the only child who loves it.

Children's salons are big news in America and while creating a niche salon dedicated to children isn't going to work everywhere, having specially dedicated seats/lollipops/dvds for children and more importantly trained members of staff, who know how to get children to relax can give salons an extra dimension that separates them from their local rivals.
