David beckham: hair hero His football career might be over, but David Beckham remains the most popular male hair icon in the UK. According to research from Salon Services last year, David beat off competition from a host of more current celebs to be named as the man that men most want to look like - and, quite possibly, the man that most women most want their man to look like. To celebrate his birthday today, here are five of David's best looks - and here's to many more inspiring hairstyles! David Beckham hair David was one of many adaptors of the Peaky Blinder - the Edwardian-inspired undercut, with added length on top. Named for the TV series of the same name, this look also owes a debt to Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire. Proof positive that DB doesn't just lead trends, but brings them to a wider audience and makes them more commercial and accessible too. David Beckham hair This is modern Becks at his best; smart, groomed and classic - and with Victoria firmly making her mark; we'd recognise those nails anywhere. It's largely thanks to David that we've seen such a return to dapper gents all over the high street - we seriously owe this man a debt. David Beckham hair David has always spearheaded colour for men, and while this highlighted look might feel slightly dated today, he once again demonstrates his unique ability to bring a trend to a wider market. This soft quiff is another DB classic that we saw duplicated by dudes up and down the high street. David Beckham hair Who remembers the early days of DB? These blonde curtains are another classic that know look painfully outdated, but it's safe to say that everyone in the 90s had a crush on someone who looked something like this. David Beckham hair   Even David has his bad days. This spiky mohican might not be our favourite DB look, but once again it proved to be a crowd-pleaser with gents up and down the country reaching for the razor.
