Stars sparkle at 2011 teen choice awards

Colourful styles were few and far between amongst the predominantly teen crowd, but there were a couple of exceptions to the rules.
Scene queen Audrey Kitching brightened up her already bold colour with orange and blue sections woven in to her existing pastel pink locks.
Showing off a more subtle but still effective colour effect, Rachel Bilson showed off blonde dip-dyed lengths through her wavy dark brown locks.
Grungy roots remain a celebrity favourite, with both Fergie and Cat Deely rocking the look this weekend.
Fergie's white blonde lengths offer a more dramatic contrast than Cat's honey blonde shade, while both stars opted for textured, wavy lengths - perfect for showing off this grungy colour technique.
Peeper-sweeping fringes were sported by Tyra Banks and Zooey Deschanel, with feathered lengths giving a sexy, slightly-70s feel.

Straight hair had a moment too, although both Blake Lively and Avril Lavigne gave their blonde locks a hint of movement with texture through the lengths and volume all over.
While Avril kept things simple with a slightly off-centre parting and loose lengths, Blake rocked a summery updo with the top section pinned away from her face, adding volume to her crown and showing off those sparkling earrings.
Sticking with the straight look, both Ashley Greene and Cameron Diaz wore their hair smooth and simply styled.
Ashley's glossy brunette lengths are given an extra dimension with a subtle dip-dye effect, showing off a lighter shade of reddish brown through the very ends of her hair.
Maintaining the beach babe look which she has made her own, Cameron Diaz kept things effortlessly simple with a sparkling blonde shade styled in a centre-parting and left long and loose.
BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez opted for similar hairstyles at the Teen Choice Awards, with voluminous bouncy brunette curls the order of the day for both young stars.
Both actresses combined their curls with sweeping fringes and volume around the crown, but while Selena's curls are dressed out in to glossy waves, Demi's are slightly more rock chick with texture and an unfinished edge.
Kim Kardashian and younger sister Kendall Jenner both opted for updos at the awards, showing off those fabulous family features.
Kim kept things simple with a classic ballerina bun, worn high on the crown and paired with a sleek, frizz-free finish.
Kendall's style has a slightly edgier, youthful feel with her hair braided in a wide panel down the centre of her head for a look which hints at vintage rolls but with a modern twist.
Kourtney Kardashian joined her sisters in opting for a stylish updo, wearing her lengthy locks swept back in a neat, sleek ponytail.
Also sporting the summery choice of updo, Taylor Swift wore her hair semi-straight in a pretty ponytail, with curly tendrils framing her face to soften the style.
These two show the versatility of this summer staple - although both stars wear their hair high on the back of the head, the texture and finish give the style totally different looks.
