Celebrity hairdresser Herbert Howe of super-salon, Herberts of Liverpool was honoured at the recent Scouseolgy Awards, where he was presented with the BBC Radio Merseyside Special Achievement Award.
The Scouseolgy Awards have been running for 12 years, recognising the best in Liverpool's showbiz talent, but the organisers felt that Herbert's services as a top hairdresser and his massive efforts in raising funds for charity deserved similar recognition.
Said Mick Ord, managing editor of BBC Radio Merseyside: "Herbert has been a part of the Liverpool scene for nearly 40 years. He is a great businessman and a great fundraiser for charity. This was our chance to recognise him."
