The night saw more than 250 hairdressers and industry names gather for a night of creativity at its finest from the sustainable, eco-friendly haircare brand and its affiliated guest artists - as well as the announcement of the World Style Contest winner. Guests took their seats before being welcomed by Rachel Wyatt, Davines UK Country Manager, and Francesca Campanini, Master of Ceremonies, who both wore vintage clothing from Mishka Vintage in true sustainable style. After a live reading of the Davines manifesto, the duo explained how hosting the Hair On Stage event in the UK for the first time was an important moment in the story of Davines.

Taking inspiration from their latest Balance collection – a fusion of dramatic colour and dynamic shapes – the team showcased stunning cuts and colours on their three models, before a powerful presentation from nine models who brought their bright and beautiful Balance collection to life. Next it was time to welcome to the stage the three UK Semi Finalists of the World Style Contest – a global, annual event that offers hairdressers the ability to express their creativity. Sophie Harris from Blue Tit, London; Roberto Lamara, from Mie Mani Hairdressing, London and Amelia Robinson from Plum Hair & Beauty, Buckfastleigh, Devon, battled it out with their model looks in front of an esteemed panel of judges before Sophie Harris was crowned winner. Blue Tit – the niche, three-strong salon group from London – then treated guests to a bold introduction of the brand’s creative style presented by its forward-thinking Art Team. Their ten models lit up the stage with a display of bold and beautiful colour, in an array of intense and faded hues from lime green to washed-out reds. Rachel and Francesca then introduced Davines Artistic Director, Angelo Seminara and International Creative Colour Ambassador Edoardo Paludo’s models to the stage for a stunning interpretation of the Davines current collection: Sleek Swan, with contemporary male dancers choreographed by Gareth Walker. World renowned for their combined creativity, Angelo and Edoardo then wowed the crowds with their collective vision, showcasing incredible session and colour work on their models using the innovative Davines Flamboyage colouring technique. Angelo’s spirit perfectly translates the essence of Davines and guests were given a personal insight into what fuels his creativity. Said Angelo: "I love to be able to share my passion and skills directly with the audience; to create looks that are commercial and Avant-Garde, to inspire and encourage fellow hairdressers is something I am very passionate about and it was a pleasure to present at this year’s Hair on Stage."
