Best tressed: 2014 brit award nominations

Best tressed: 2014 brit award nominations The Brit Awards tend to be a male-dominated affair, with the best of British female artists often left to perform in something scantily clad before losing out on a prize to some blokes with beards - but at the nominations show, it was a glamorous girl-power lineup that wowed on the red carpet. Now we just need some winners on the night! Elle Eyre 2014 Brit nominations Rudimental collaborator and BBC Sound of 2014 runner-up, Elle Eyre, made an impact with jumbo curls in a two-tone palette of blonde and black. Wild, dramatic and full of that all-important on-stage impact, this is a mane to be proud of. Ellie Goulding 2014 Brit nominations Ellie Goulding is never afraid to dial up the glamour on the red carpet and this big blow-dry is no exception. I love the matte finish on her pale blonde hair and the tousled finish too - would love to see the Blondie vibes enhanced with a shorter cut though! Jessie J 2014 Brit nominations Taking this season's wig trend and running with it, Jessie opted for a look not too dissimilar to her trademark glossy black bob - or at least trademark before she got her head shaved. Of course the cut and colour look great on her, but I would have preferred to see a shorter, blunter fringe rather than this wispy style. Chloe Howl 2014 Brit nominations Chloe Howl's red pixie crop is a brilliant little cut that suits her features and style perfectly - I even love the Ginger Spice blonde highlights. Super cute, and a perfect match for that high-necked neoprene number. Pixie Lott 2014 Brit nominations Pixie Lott never strays too far from her Bardot-esque dusty-finish blonde blow-dry - and why would you, when it looks so lovely? Still, the Brits are a fun event and the perfect opportunity to do something different - maybe we'll see something new from her on the night. Birdy 2014 Brit nominationsFolk singer Birdy is only 17 so I'll give her on the pass on these super-long locks. The condition's great (so shiny!) and the texture is too (perfect natural waves!), but on anyone a bit older I'd be tempted to get the scissors out for a bit of a trim. Oh to be young again and have such a perfect natural mane of healthy hair...
