Hj crowns darryn pitman barber of the year at salon international 2013 HJ's Barber of the Year Competition at Salon International 2013 Darryn Pitman from the ICE Hair Group in Cardiff has been named as HJ's Barber of the Year in the inaugural competition at Salon International. Simon Khan from Toni & Guy in Solihull, Bobby Freedman from Dazzlers in Birmingham, JP Michael from JP Michael Hair in Glasgow, Branislav Hamorsky from The Francesco Group in Congleton and Nathan Jones from Adee Phelan Cheshire in Stalybridge were the five other finalists, all set with the task of recreating their looks live at the show. [gallery ids="31120,31121,31119"] The competition, supported by the British Barbers’ Association and sponsored by Andis and Osmo, saw hundreds of entries from around the world submitted, showcasing the very best of barbering and men’s hairdressing skills. Judges Chris Foster from Foss Academy, Jim Shaw from Essensuals Men, BBA director Mike Taylor, Jonathan King from Denman International and Stephen MacDonough  from Osmo had the hard task of choosing the six finalists, who worked in a live competition area on the Salon International floor. "I was really nervous, but feel incredibly proud to have won," said Darryn.
