Les Langley, a 46-year-old father of three from Darlington, recently beat off the competition to be named as Britain's Best Groomed Man by shaving brand, Bluebeard's Revenge and male cancer charity, Orchid.
More than 1,000 men entered the competition, with Les winning a final public vote against 30 other well-groomed guys. The bar owner was inspired to enter the competition after having lost his wife to cancer, saying:
"After my first wife died in January 2004 I became more aware that self-checking was vital. I couldn't bear the idea of my children being left without any parents. It is important for men as well as women to check themselves and make it part of their daily routine.
“I now have an amazing opportunity to promote self-checking and hopefully save a few lives along the way. I really want to do my bit to raise the awareness of male cancers.”
Lee will now become the face of Bluebeard's Revenge and became an ambassador to Orchid - and his prize also included a trip to the prestigious GQ Men of the Year Awards at the Royal Opera House in London.
Top men's salon, Mr Rizzo Grooming, stepped in to help get Les looking ship-shape for the show, treating him to a haircut, luxury shave and facial to ensure he looked his best on the red carpet.
Mr Rizzo Grooming has recently been nominated for London Hairdressing Salon of the Year in the London Lifestyle Awards; the only men's salon on the shortlist.
