The Marlow branch of the Haringtons salon group opened in 1996 as a single-unit shop and expanded into the space next door when it became available in 2002.

Unfortunately, the salon was completely gutted by fire at the start of this year, prompting a total overhaul which took six weeks to complete.

Following a total strip-out to remove the damage caused by fire and smoke, the salon directors and the team at YY Design set about transforming the shell into a warm and welcoming space befitting of the upmarket town in which the salon resides.

Starting with an entirely blank canvas, the team had a corporate look to adhere to - as one of 12 salons in the group, a uniform feel was essential.

Embossed Haringtons logos on the backwash seats and styling chairs add a sophisticated, discrete nod to the brand's heritage, but a few personal tweaks have allowed this branch to stand out in its own way.

Individual choices for the Marlow branch include an opaque glass wall to separate the Kéraspa backwash haven for a true sense of rest and relaxation and luxuriously upholstered cream and chocolate leather wall panels adding a tactile dimension to the colouring area.

As well as looking good, the leather padding also serves to reduce noise. The 1,750sq ft salon boasts 32 staff and 24 stations, and while this means that Haringtons can easily cater to its busy clientele of professionals and executive families, it also means that the salon remains a peaceful haven, no matter how busy it gets.
