Élan hair design win at british chamber awards

Élan Hair Design in Inverurie has won Sustainable Business of the Year at the 2012 Chamber Awards. The Scottish salon fought off stiff competition from across the UK to win the title, which was awarded by the British Chambers of Commerce.
Judges at the ceremony, which took place at London's Guildhall, were impressed with the way Élan has instilled a culture of sustainability right across the business, creating one of the UK's most eco-friendly hair salon.
Gordon Milton, who runs Élan Hair Design along with his wife Lorna, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have won the Chamber Award. It's a fantastic achievement for a company of our size and shows what can be achieved if you put your mind to it.
"
Credit has to go to all our team at Élan who have really embraced the changes we've made to the business. This award win has capped 2012 in the best possible way."
Élan's victory immediately follows its success at the National Business Awards' ICAEW Sustainability Award, where it was a creditable runner up to retail giant Marks & Spencer.
