The x factor 2012 week three: jamie's favourite jade-x-factor-hair-roll.jpgWeek three of X Factor saw the contestants get in the Halloween spirit for a spooky special - here the show's hairdresser Jamie Stevens reveals which creepy contestant was his favourite.

"I was so sad to see Jade go this week, not only because she's a great talent and a lovely person, but also because from a hairdressing perspective she was the most experimental with her transition and was willing to change her hair colour and style every week, which was so much fun to work with.

"We loved coming up with Jade's futuristic look this week for the Halloween theme which was really fun to create alongside make-up artist Julia Carta, who created a metallic, corrugated iron prosthetic panel which was attached to the left-side of her head. It's not recommended to do this on normal hair, but as Jade's head is shaved on one side, it made this possible.

"I blow-dried the hair using a round bristle brush with volumising mousse. Using a pair of mini crimpers, I crimped the whole head in one-inch sections, using a heat protection spray throughout and hairspray to give it a crispy texture, which was key to creating the look.

"After brushing out all the crimped hair and smoothing the hair from the top to the bottom of the parting, I started to roll all the hair over to create this futuristic roll, pinning with Kirby grips and securing with hairspray, perfecting the shape to get this structured shape.

"The added prosthetic gave the look a real edge. Jade looked great and I'll definitely be missing my hair hero this week, though we've got some exciting looks up our sleeves for this weekend with the remaining contestants, can't wait to get started!"
