2011 front of house award: michael van clarke

The Front of House Award was introduced to HJ's British Hairdressing Business Awards in 2011.

We caught up with the first ever winners, Michael van Clarke, to find out why he thinks the front of house is so crucial to the salon experience.

Michael-Van-Clarke-foh.jpgWho looks after your front of house?

A team of four cover reception and the bookings office with some rotation.

Why is the front of house important to a salon?

The team that run the front of house are responsible for the daily operations. It's the first and last impression for our clients and the nerve centre for a smooth running day.

Just How important is it?

We couldn't function without it

What makes your front of house stand out?

The team form the core of our management and are all partners in Michael Van Clarke LLP. They are very welcoming to clients and very much on top of the business too.

Describe your front of house in three words...

Warm, welcoming, efficient.
