Celebrity wedding hair heroes of 2011 From the Royal Wedding to Kate Moss's festival-themed three-day festivities, 2011 has seen an array of beautiful brides heading down the aisle and we've been wowed by the hair every time.

Here we take a look back at some of the most stylish brides of the year;

"Lily's wedding hair definitely played second fiddle to her outfit, which was the focus of her big day. The soft, gently tonged waves worn loose at the back were feminine and simple, allowing her elaborate 1920's long, lacy veil to take centre stage. However, staying true to her signature look, the full fringe was visible, but swept to the side for a more ladylike feel."

"Kate is renowned for her striking looks and on-trend fashion choices but for her nuptials she opted for a more modest approach. Kate's hair was kept simple, working with a centre parting and tousled waves. The casual, contemporary style complemented the material and style of her designer dress; suiting her rock-chic wedding perfectly."

"I have been doing Kate's hair for nearly eight years now and at the start of the year she asked if I would look after her for the wedding. People said it was a simple style - but trust me, when you have two billion people watching, it's not that simple! The whole look centred on the tiara and veil which had to be anchored and sewn on first. I had to do the whole look with the veil in place - that was a challenge. A lot of the detail was hidden and it took almost two hours to complete. Kate looked stunning and I'm so proud to have been part of her day. I was very fortunate to be invited to the Abbey and I can tell you, it was very emotional for me to see her walking down the aisle."

"Zara's wedding hair is elegant and timeless, which is key for a royal wedding. The simple side parting softens her strong features and the low chignon perfectly complements her wedding dress. To recreate this look, I would suggest blow-drying hair the evening before so it's not too soft, then setting the hair in rollers the following day for added body. Once the rollers are removed, simply tie hair back into a low ponytail and develop the chignon from that base."

"I adore Petra's wedding hair. The style is possibly a touch too long for me and the curls would have held slightly better if it was a tad shorter; but that said I love the glamourous nod to the 1960s with a Bardot-esque half-up, half-down style and softly tousled curls. Colour-wise, lots of creamy blondes placed around the front hairline frames and highlights, while the colour is broken up and softened through the length by adding some contrasting warm honey and cooler tones."

"I know this may be the groom's third marriage but I still think the bride could have made more effort with her hair. The flower, though understated, just looks perched on the top of her head! I think the colour is great as it really complements her skintone, but whereas Kate Middleton got the movement just right in her hair for a soft, feminine look I feel this look is lacking something. The flower would have worked better in a chic updo - it would have looked completly different, taking on a simple elegance and flattering the neckline of her dress."

"For her big day, Charlene, Princess of Monaco was the image of a future queen exuding a delicate elegance. Her wedding hair was a crowning glory; sophisticated and traditional yet extremely beautiful with luminous colour. The princess looks absolutely radiant."
Catherine O'Donoghue, Enzorosario, Godalming, Surrey

"This is a rather angelic look for Josephine although I think the headdress leaves it a bit overdone. The way her gorgeous Titian waves frame her face is perfect but would have been better left loose rather than being pressed flat by the veil. I would have preferred a loose updo, with the hair pinned up in sections, leaving out thick strands at the front to create a tousled appearance. A lesson for all brides, be glamorous on your big day but never over do it!"
Thomas McMillian, Cox McMillan, London

"Myleene has stunning hair, so why didn't she use it on her wedding day? In my opinion I feel she could have worn it without a veil to really show off her bone structure. Perhaps she could have gone super sleek with it off her face, or added even more curl to show off her stunning hair tone."
Robert Kirby, SANRIZZ, London

"I don't think Abbey has made as much effort as I would have expected here. The colour could have had a bit of a refresh and with such a beautiful strapless dress I would have been tempted to dress the hair in a half-up, half-down style with soft curls to accentuate her jaw line and feminine neck."
Alison Barratt, Jericho Art Team, Maidenhead

"Her marriage may not have lasted long, but this beautiful style is timeless. The bun at the back is a flattering shape, but I think the top feels a little flat and scraped back. Kim's big-day look would have been better if there was just a little softness, either with a slight flick or fringe."

"Since the Royal Wedding a lot more brides are opting for wearing their hair down as Catherine did. Personally, I think Lily's look would have been better loosely pinned up to show of her supermodel sculpted shoulders and the top of her dress. If hair is just loosely pinned up for the ceremony, it can then easily be taken down in the evening for a softer more relaxed look."
