Perfect party hair: create dramatic curls

British Hairdresser of the Year 2011 nominees Gary Hooker and Michael Young help you to create the look that will get your clients noticed.

1. Apply Matrix Full-Lift Spray-In Volumizer for extra lift from root to tip and blow dry.
2. Once dry, use wide barrelled tongs and curl the hair away from the face.
3. Secure each tonged section using a pin curl.
4. Once the hair has cooled, release the curls.
5. Using a wide toothcomb, gently brush the curls out and use your fingers to create the desired shape.
6. Attach the headpiece without disturbing the curls.
