Celebrity inspiration from fashion's front row HJI Hearts logo.bmpKirsten-Dunst-small-nyfw.jpgWith New York Fashion Week in full flow, the most inspirational styles are not always on the catwalk - front row fashionistas make the audience as aspirational as the designer collections.

As well as heiresses and A-list actresses, the front row also attracts a smarter breed of celebrity - the fashionistas who are on first-name terms with designers and would never be seen dead in anything by the latest styles.

Here are some of our favourite fashion front-rowers!

Erin Wasson
"The ombré colour technique continues to be very on-trend, ever since celebrities such as Alexa Chung, Rachel Bilson and Drew Barrymore made it popular. On Erin, I like the natural-looking gradient of colour, rather than the more obvious contrasting dip-dye effect. The model is working natural waves with an unpolished finish really well, and sweeping her hair to one side also works wonders for her jawline."
Ricky Lee Jones, Jones and Payne, London

Chloë Sevigny
"Keeping her hair in a chic updo with a few loose face-framing tendrils makes for a sophisticated yet very natural look for Chloë. The smooth and simple style is perfect for any event, be it on the red carpet or a fashion week appearance. The splash of red lipstick helps to make her overall look stand out and adds edginess to her on-trend monochrome outfit."
Alexander Turnbull, Alexander Hair and Beauty, Anlaby, Hull

Kirsten Dunst
"Kirsten has nailed this look. The sleek, high bun complements her diamond face shape and chiselled features beautifully. This style is perfect on any colour but with Kirsten's blonde highlights, it takes on a dip-dye effect with darker roots and lighter ends, gaining extra style points. Buns are so versatile, so for a different take, Kirsten could wear the style higher, messy and volumised. However, this look ticks all the boxes, working with this season's androgynous trend while remaining feminine - perfect for New York Fashion Week."
Nikita Barter, Paul Falltrick Hairdressing, Essex

Leigh Lezark
"Model and muse Leigh Lezark is a regular on the front rows at fashion week, from grungy downtown labels in New York to the couture shows hosted by Chanel in Paris. The recent addition of a heavy eye-skimming fringe to her trademark black tresses is a great way to showcase her hair's glamorous high-shine finish, and the tousled waves add texture and movement, which is very current."
