Fake ghds seized at airport

Counterfeit ghd stylers with a retail value of more than £100,000 have been seized by the UK Border Agency at East Midlands airport in the last 12 months.

The haul, part of a £4m raid on fake top brand names heading for the black market came about after the airport team worked closely with manufacturers like ghd and the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) to prevent the goods hitting the street.

A representative from ghd's brand protection team said: "It is hugely reassuring to know that our efforts to end all ghd counterfeit activity is being so effectively supported by the teams at the UK border.

"Every fake ghd styler seized at airports around the country is one less that will end up in the hands of unsuspecting consumers."
