Colourful stars - hair colour experts give their verdict

Colour-Campaign-logo.pngHair colour can make or break a hairstyle and nobody is more aware of this than image-conscious, top celebrities.

From Paloma Faith's gorgeous warm red to Catherine Zeta Jones' raven black hue.

We ask colour ambassadors what they think of these celebrity hair colour trends.

"Catherine Zeta Jones has her hair bang on-trend with this look.

"These beautiful waves are perfect for the day and easy to transform into an elegant evening look.

"Her dark tone is strong against her skin tone and provides the perfect base for these beautiful waves which can be achieved with medium heat Velcro rollers to add body."

Julie-Anne Newton - Regis, London

"Paloma Faith's colour works especially well for her but be careful, it's not a colour for everyone.

"The red reflects her personality and she wears it well. It suits her delicate skin tone.

"The colour is made even more dramatic by contrasting her pale complexion with the bright red shade on her lips, giving a striking and kooky statement style."

Charlie Taylor - Charlie Taylor Hair & Beauty, Perth

pixielott-kcp-small.jpgPixie Lott - blonde

"Pixie Lott's colour is what's cool about younger blondes right now.

"It is a full head blonde with a lot of lights intermixed. The hair has a dishevelled boho elegance about it but rather than being a natural or clean looking blonde, it has a buttery feel.

"Toning is crucial in this colour, too long and you will loose the brightness of the blonde, too little time and your blonde will appear yellow or raw looking."

Lisa Shepherd - Lisa Shepherd Salons, Birmingha

"Kelly has a beautifully warm, organic, lived-in colour which complements her skin tone and gorgeous hazel eyes.

"To achieve this look, working within a family of color, I would use a block colouring technique starting with a level four red natural brown base.

"Then add slices of a level six red natural and level five medium warm copper brown to add depth and soften the style."
