Feeling the heat on my latest shoot - andrew barton

barton-andrew-150.gifSince my last update, I've been on a bit of a whistlestop tour of the world - starting with my much talked about trip to South Africa.

The production was a big budget shoot for consumer brand Timotei. It was a great gig to do and I am really pleased with the final results but it was still a lot of hard work.

The weather was just so hot! It was 45 degrees in the shade - the kind of heat you've never known anything like. I had to have an umbrella man following me around and the temperature made the hair so hard to manage.

And because it was so hot, we had to be on set at 4.30am to start filming then go in during the height of the day and then start filming again at about 3pm until sunset.

Afterwards I did get a couple of days off to enjoy with some hairdresser friends in Cape Town, which was a very welcome break because as soon as I got back I had to turn around and head out to Beirut for a show for L'Oréal Professionnel.

Andrew-stage-show.jpgI've been to Beirut a few times and now I know a lot of the old faces when I go there, so it is just another trip, but I did have one scary experience there in the past.

As soon as I finished the show they told me that there was a limo waiting for me outside to take me straight to the airport. I got on the first flight out of there and the following day the international airport was shut for eight weeks, so I do know what can happen.

Next I'm off to Ibiza for a photo shoot for Marie Claire. I've also got a lot of other exciting things happening, both on the consumer and professional front.

It's all very hush hush at the moment, but in the next few months I'll tell you all...
