Habia appoint african hair ambassador

Habia has appointed Sandra Webb, one of the industry's most respected and talented African Caribbean hairdressers to be its new ambassador for the new standards in African type hair.

Sandra, a senior technical consultant for AVLON and a member of the KMS artistic team, will be the spokeswoman for the standards and will be encouraging employers, industry professionals and new entrants to take up existing and new qualifications.

Speaking of her new role, Sandra said, "I am both honoured and flattered to become the Ambassador for African Caribbean hair, and intend to fulfill the role to the best of my abilities."

Sandra has over 20 years experience in the industry, and was the first female to win the Black Beauty/Wahl Hair Awards Stylist of the Year.  She has also won the Softsheen Carson Golden Scissors Awards and been a finalist in the British Hairdressing Awards Afro Hairdresser of the Year category for three consecutive years.

Currently an educator teaching in hairdressing colleges and salons in the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands, Sandra also carries out session styling for high profile fashion shoots, hairdressing exhibitions, TV shows and video shoots.

Alan Goldsbro, Habia CEO, said, "Sandra has a wealth of experience and is well respected within the industry, so it's great to have her on the team.  African Caribbean hairdressing has come a long way, and the new standards, with Sandra's help, will take it even further."
