Hairdressers best for customer service Not only are hairdressers among the happiest in their careers, but they are also the top dog when it comes to keeping their clients happy! A major new study asked 6,000 people to score industries on the things that are most important to consumers, including professionalism, complaint-handling, quality and competence, and friendliness of staff. Each of the professions were then rated on a UK Customer Satisfaction Index and hairdressers came out on top, scoring an impressive 84 out of 100. The hair industry is now bring held up as a benchmark that other professions should learn from. Robert Crawford, executive director of ICS who ran the survey, says: "It all goes to confirm what we already know – that hairdressers have a well-earned reputation for giving friendly, skilful and highly individual attention and advice." "There are many companies and organisations out there that would do well to follow their example. There is no reason why the attributes displayed by small enterprises like hairdressers cannot transfer to larger organisations." Just in case you're wondering, estate agents came bottom of the pile.
