Louis wesolowski When HJi approached me about writing a blog, I jumped at the chance - I'm not the kind of person to shun the spotlight!I'm looking forward to sharing my story of life as a junior; the ups and downs (I'm sure there will be plenty of each) of my training and any other momentous events that occur. Hopefully, some of you will share your tales with me too and we can learn from each other.

So who am I? Well, I'm a 16-year-old (17 next month!) junior from Earley, Reading, who has been in the industry for just over a year (July 10 was my first anniversary). I've already learned loads, but I'm really excited about the next 12-18 months when the training gets more intensive and I learn about different cuts and how to put everything I've learned together.Although I'm new to the industry, it's something that I have always felt passionate about. And I think there is only one thing that makes more of an impact than a really good hair cut: a really bad hair cut! Fortunately, I haven't caused any of the latter just yet. In fact, the worst experience I have had is getting a bit carried away when I'm thinning a cut. At the moment that's my favourite bit of the job; when you finish a cut really nicely and you stand back and look at it and think 'wow, I did that'. But I'm also a massive fan of the creativity of colour and I find Robbie the colour technician at Forresters in Shinfield, a huge inspiration. He has been in the industry for years and has an incredible eye for what will work. People trust him implicitly and they always look amazing when they leave. Hopefully that's what people will be saying about me one day!
